President Bush Welcomes HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum to Camp David

August 3, 2008 – President Bush welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland. Upon his arrival, Sheikh Mohammed was greeted by an honor guard as he began his overnight visit with the President.

Sheikh Mohammed’s trip follows a visit to Camp David in June by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Bush’s visit to the United Arab Emirates in January. "The ruler of Dubai is an important figure in the emirates and an influential figure around the world," said Gordon Johndroe, National Security Council spokesman.
