A Discussion on the Impact of Export Controls
October 16, 2008 – The U.S. Consulate General sponsored a conversation with the American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates on export controls and their impact on business in the UAE and in the region. The key guest was the Department of State’s Acting Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation, Patricia McNerney, along with the Department of Energy’s Deputy Administrator for the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation, Will Tobey; Consul General Paul Sutphin accompanied the delegation.
Hosted by the American Business Council at their Dubai office, the meeting provided an opportunity for members of the American business community in Dubai to discuss how security and economic prosperity are impacted by export controls.
